Jackie McLeod is the founding director and principal consultant of Firecraft Environmental Pty Ltd. Jackie’s initial role in environmental consulting ensured she gained experience in management of a broad range of local and regional environmental issues. Her professional career has been predominantly specific to fire management for the past 12 years.
This has included managing complex specialist fire management projects in Queensland and working with clients in the mining industries, airports, Department of Defence properties, Aboriginal Land Councils and Indigenous Protected Areas, and various corporate clients.
Jackie’s experience both as a consultant and as a fire practitioner lighting large landscape-scale fires in this niche field has allowed her to establish Firecraft Environmental specialising in all aspects fire management and Bushfire Hazard Assessments which has been operating for over 6 years. She has extensive experience in strategic fire management planning for large properties and managing operational risk associated with fire programs.
This experience has formed the basis for her unique skill-set in bushfire hazard assessments and burn management plans where her scientific background, knowledge of vegetation and fuel dynamics and the ability to anticipate fire behaviour provides thorough investigation and detailed analysis of accurate fire risk.
